We guide, support, and represent students and families of color for
the duration of their independent school journey.
Independent schools do not accurately represent the overall Los Angeles population, where more than 70% of residents are people of color. At Axis, it is our mission to change this. We actively promote and sustain cultural diversity in private schools, and a significant aspect of our program is focused on student placement. Axis supports students of color and their families as they navigate the private school application process, while connecting them with our established network of partner schools.

The Student Application Process
Phase 1: Join Axis
The first step in the application process is to attend a mandatory Axis Information Session. From there, you’ll be asked to complete a short inquiry form, followed by the Axis Application. Once you’ve joined Axis, you’ll participate in orientation and exploration. This is an opportunity for you to research and interact with our network of Partner Schools.
Phase 2: Collaboration Sessions
The next step is your Axis Collaboration Session, which is an in-depth meeting with your Admissions Advisor where we discuss which Partner Schools you should explore and apply to.
Phase 3: Admissions Experience and Common Application
As each family explores the various admissions events offered, our team supports you in completing the Axis Common Application and submitting them to the relevant Partner Schools.
Phase 4: Interviews and Financial Aid
Next, we’ll help you prepare for your admissions interviews and invite you to attend financial aid workshops. We will ensure your financial aid applications are completed correctly.
Phase 5: Final Steps
Team Axis meets with each Partner School Admissions Team to discuss each Axis applicant in-depth. Finally, our Partner Schools will make their admissions decisions, and Axis cohort members will meet with Team Axis for support while making their school selection decisions. Upon placement, Team Axis will provide support and guidance for the duration of your private school journey.
